Un-allocating & Re-allocating Bookings = Re-Shuffle &  Maximum Yield

17.03.15 06:15 AM By Peter

ResDiary has just released a great new un-allocate & re-allocate feature.

If you un-allocate a reservation from its current table, it will free that table up for a new reservation or perhaps a VIP guest that always sits on that same table. It will either find the next available table for the unallocation reservation or if you are already full, it will add the reservation to the Un-Allocated Reservations List. As soon as you have un-allocated reservations on your list, online bookings are closed out, as are further internal reservations. You must either re-allocate this reservation or add to the W8List or Standby List.

You can also un-allocate your whole restaurant or just certain specific areas within your restaurant. Once you have done this, you can re-allocate all your reservations. ResDiary will automatically follow all the rules set and maximise every available table and time-slots. It is Critical your Table Rankings are set-up correct for this.

There are some settings to configure behind this :

GoTo >  Settings> Interface Settings:
1. Try to automatically re-seat bookings (default = On)
2. Send Bookings to W8List or Standby List ( Note:  This setting only effects today's. All future bookings are sent to the  Standby List).

Important Configuration, if you wish to use  Un-Allocate All
GoTo >  Settings> Settings> Un-allocate Settings: These settings allow you to determine if  single and/or join  bookings are un-allocated and of those if (VIP's) (RCH) (Locked) (Waiting in Bar) are un-allocated.

For all of you very big and busy restaurants out there, this Unallocate & Reallocate will maximise your Diary for the every service by squeezing every available white box out of your Diary, just like when playing Tetris!

Obviously, if you are that busy you should be using our W8List feature too, as it works in sync with all parts of ResDiary. Ideally you would be using the Table Plan view via a web browser on a Tablet, with your Expected Arrivals showing and your W8List. You can quickly Close a table when it is ready to be used again and the W8List will kick into action for the next waiting guests.
